You have the opportunity to create a career for life at Princeenergy.   Our department is expanding and we are now looking to recruit a qualified and experienced Commercial Gas/Breakdown Engineer to join our vibrant team that deliver a second to none service.

The role is based in the Cambridgeshire/Bedfordshire area, so a 50 mile radius of this location would be ideal.   You will often work remotely as our Building Services department is based at our Peterborough Branch where our friendly team will support you.   Inclusion in our emergency call out rota is an essential requirement as you will be primarily working on PPM/Response contracts.

The Building Services team work on a variety of projects including supermarket/retail, schools, colleges, care homes, prison service, police service, insurance works, breakdown and installation works.   The successful candidate must be willing to travel on a daily basis for the needs of the business.

Reporting to our fantastic team of Department Managers within the Building Services Department the engineer will take on various projects which support the mechanical department with their ongoing works.

The role is based at our Peterborough Branch where our friendly team will support you so a 50 mile radius of this location would be ideal. You will often work nationwide due to the varied nature of our projects so a flexible approach to working hours will be required. The Building Services team work on a variety of projects including schools, colleges, care homes, prison service, police service, insurance works, breakdown and installation works. The successful candidate must be willing to travel on a daily basis for the needs of the business and inclusion in our emergency call out rota is an essential requirement.

Job requests are sent through via a smart device to enable completion of reports. Customer service is of paramount importance and we therefore require excellent communication skills as you will be required to contact customers regarding appointments.

The role of the Building Services Manager (Mechanical) is to ensure the allocated projects are run efficiently, profitably and that all contractual conditions are complied with. All projects are completed to a high standard, in a safe working manner and to the total satisfaction of our client.

Reporting to the Executive Manager (Princeenergy) the Building Services Manager (Mechanical) will be responsible for the day to day running of varying sized commercial and retail mechanical projects. Project values will vary between £10,000 to over £1,000,000.

Duties and responsibilities are to include:-

  • Managing office based and on site personnel.
  • Competence and understanding of contract design and construction drawings.
  • Enforcing and monitoring Health & Safety practices and CDM Regulations on site.
  • Preparation of relevant reports, programmes and progress reports.
  • Pricing and agreeing Instructions with the client or client’s agent.
  • Formulating valuations and final accounts.
  • Identifying and implement improvements to any aspect of the service that we provide.
  • Procurement of new clients and suppliers.
  • Deal with, record and investigate any complaints received with regards to any aspect of the service that we provide.
  • Professional development of engineers.
